Trunk or Treat

For Halloween this year, our base did trunk or treating. It was soooooooo much better than driving our kids an hour away just for some door to door trick-or-treating. The Germans really need to pick up on this holiday ;) Anyways, we decorated our trunk and then we met up with a bunch of other people from our base and let the kids go from trunk to trunk. The boys had a great time and got so much candy! Needless to say, we let them pick out 10 pieces of candy each and then the rest are going to our offices for everybody else to eat. I don't need my kids on a constant sugar high until Christmas!


Zachary dressed up as Spiderman and Matthew was a blue Power Ranger. I think that it is really funny that Matthew picked a Power Ranger and even knew what one was because we have never even watched that show. Come to think of it, we have never watched Spiderman either. I sometimes wonder where my kids pick things up at. Here are some pictures of my little super heroes!

This picture was taken after the trunk or treating when the kids were having their costume contest. For some reason, I am not sure if somebody said something to Matthew or what, but he threw a big fit and didn't want to wear his costume anymore. He said it was because of the fake muscles, that they weren't cool or something to that effect.

He is really starting to come into his own these days. It is really strange. He will wear some high water blue sweat pants with some random shirt that doesn't even match, but suddenly a brown jacket or his Power Ranger costume is uncool? Anybody else with a 4 1/2-5 yr. old experiencing this one? Is he learning to express his opinion or what? Suddenly I have a 4 1/2 yr. old with his own fashion sense and his definition of what is cool and what is not.

Allan and I went as the Spartans from Saturday Night Live. We had a fun time with that one!
