Turkey Day

Even though Thanksgiving was well over a month ago it seems like just yesterday. It is amazing how fast the time flies by. I still can't believe that we are now in the year 2011. I remember the last days before the year 2000 and all the panic of the technological world coming to an end. Last minute runs to the ATM just in case it didn't work in 2000, backing up computers, going to the grocery store to stock up on water and other necessities. You would think that we were preparing for Armageddon. Needless to say it seemed to have come and gone without a hitch. Now here we are, 11years later. I guess it's true what "they" say...time really does fly by faster the older you get.

Ok, back to my original post, Thanksgiving. My dad came up for a visit which was wonderful. He drove up here from Houston and brought us all kinds of goodies, including about 300 pounds of deer meat. He worked really hard for about a week getting this all together for us. We have ground venison, breakfast sausage, italian sausage, jalapeno sausage, backstrap, etc. Enough meat to last us until next Thanksgiving I am sure. Dad was also a good boy and did all his chores. He installed an attic door for us, an above range microwave, and other "honey do's" around the house. I just love it when my dad comes to visit! It is amazing all the stuff that can get done =) Thanks daddy!!

All of our venison...

On Thanksgiving day while the turkey was cooking we did a little geocaching. It was about 24 degrees outside and what was supposed to be a short little hike turned into over 2 miles. Ugh! We were some tired popsicles by the time we got back to the car.

The boys found some treasure!

When we finally got home it was time to eat! Here is a picture of my two little Thanksgiving day buddies =)

And at the end of the day we were all pooped!
