Facshing
This past Sunday we went to the town of Lutzerath, about a 10 min. drive from us, where we went to their Facshing parade. I am not quite sure of all the exact details, but basically it is their equivalent to our Mardi Gras except instead of throwing beads they give out shots of liquor to the adults and throw candy (lots and lots of candy) to the children. They say that it officially starts on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour, but kicks into high gear 6 days before Ash Wednesday and that is when the craziness begins. Pretty much everything closes down and the whole town just drinks and parties and all kinds of stuff that I am sure that I don't even want to know about =) Anyways, here are some pictures of the parade.
