Well here we are in Germany, for the next 3 years at least =) I was really dreading the plane ride over here, but all in all it wasn't too bad. Of course that is looking in retrospect! Zachary was fussing especially since he had a slight ear infection and Matthew, well he was just being Matthew. He threw a few fits and also a sippy cup at the people in front of us. Eventually though they both fell asleep! When we FINALLY got off the plane 10 hrs. later it took us forever to find out where to go. We were the last ones of the plane so we missed following the crowds of people down to baggage. Just a little FYI...the Frankfurt airport is HUGE, and all in German so even more difficult to manuever around. Not to mention that there is no elevators to freely use which is no good with 2 kranky kids; one of which is in a stroller and one that is pulling a nice, but tiring Thomas the Tank engine suitcase all around the huge airport! We finally make it through customs and on to baggage. Since we are so far behind everyone else our suitcases weren't hard to find! Speaking of suitcases I'll just briefly mention that we had 8! Sadly my mom had none and I had one. The rest belonged to the boys! Anyone that has kids knows that you can't ship them off to a foreign country w/o their precious toys for 2 1/2 months! Plus we weren't too sure about the weather situation and w/ Zach's constant growth spurts you just can't be too careful! Good thing about the weather too, because it was rainy and cold for the first few weeks that we were there. Ok, back to the airport. We finally got all of our baggage, but missing Zachary's brand new car seat that I had picked up from UPS on the way to the airport! Finally found we are good to go! The people were nice enough to let Allan and his sponsor Dave through the sacred gates to help us with all of our stuff! Good thing they brought 2 cars!! It was so very, very nice to see Allan again although I was a little flustered w/ everything that we had endured thus far. He, of course, was overjoyed to see us (until he saw all the suitcases that is =) ) After 13 months my family was finally back together. It was so nice. Matthew immediately went into his daddy's arms. AAhh =)
So, after our little reunion and about a mile and a half walk (no lie) we got to leave the airport and made our hour and a half ride to our hotel where we would be staying until we found a house!
